"The biggest honor in the world of cinema - the presence of Alexander Sokurov" admitted VOICES director Igor Lysenko.
"The award, which we established, is given to unique people. We unanimously awarded the prize to Alexander Sokurov, master, teacher, wonderful person."

An honored guest of the festival, director Paolo Taviani presented the award, calling Sokurov one of the "great directors of our time."

The award winner thanked the Organizing Committee for the recognition and said: "To be rewarded in one's own homeland - the most significant event in the life of an author."
